ARB has a long history of helping the communities in which we work grow and prosper. We believe that it is our responsibility to add value to the communities that require our services, and they will in turn provide us with educated work force, skilled partners, and advanced technologies. By being involved in issues that affect our communities and striving to improve life for those around us, we are making a tangible investment in our future. ARB is expected to form a Community Outreach Committee (COC) in 2015.

Community Development

ARB is committed to partnering with organizations that work to better the communities where we operate and our employees live. We strive to understand, respect, and learn from the diverse cultures and traditions of local communities. By being involved locally and participating in events we are in a position to work on the needs of specific communities. In 2015 the ARB Community Outreach Committee plans to focus on opportunities in the following areas.

ARB employees from the ARB Lake Forest and ARB Bakersfield locations organize annual blood draws and donated blood to American Red Cross.

Education is Priority at ARB. We develop educational programs, and organize various activities to promote educational opportunities for our employees and the community at large.

Donations to Charity Organization and Foundations ARB has a long history of contributing to charities.

Corporate Donations and Fundraising Matches Monetary donations include ARB employee family memorials and fund raising matches. We also contribute to select third party memorials to honor customers and friends.

Schools, Universities, and Community Organizations ARB participates in fundraisers and offers donations to several local educational institutions, clubs, organizations, and community organizations. Click here to see detailed report of ARB giving

Construction Industry Associations and Unions

As an active member of different industry associations ARB participates in association committees and governance, and supports the various scholarship programs and fundraisers. Environmental Stewardship

ARB realizes that its business while leading to an improved quality of life for the communities we serve, does have an impact on the environment. We are committed to minimizing this impact by working in a safe and environmentally responsible manner consistent with sustainable business practices that provide a competitive return on investment.

We at ARB are committed to protecting the environment as an integral part of our business. To accomplish this we strive to:

a) Protect the health and safety of our employees and the surrounding human communities and ecosystems

b) Use natural resources, including raw materials, energy, and water, as efficiently as possible

c) Continually improve our environmental performance including prevention of pollution, increasing efficiency, and reducing waste in our projects and processes

d) Comply with applicable local, state, and federal environmental regulations

e) Collaborate with suppliers, creating relationship based on trust, loyalty, transparency, mutual respect and reciprocal contribution, increasing their involvement in aspects regarding environment, quality and workplace health and safety in common processes

f) Measure and review our environmental performance periodically to ensure its objectives and targets are within the framework of our environmental policy

g) Document, implement, and maintain our environmental policy and procedures

h) To make sure our environmental performance is communicated to all persons working for or on behalf of ARB

We will ensure that environmental performance and sustainable business practices are integral part of ARB's performance and of the performance of all of our employees and subcontractors.

Reduce / Recycle / Reuse

The following initiatives have been part of our Green Teams efforts in minimizing our environmental footprint.

ARB equipment division has invested substantially in upgrading our large equipment fleet to meet and exceed the EPA Tier 3 and Tier 4 compliance standards for emissions and fuel consumption.

We recycle all paper via Waste Management program. All paper is collected and then deposited into the proper container to be picked up by Waste management. In our Lake Forest offices alone we recycle approximately 600lbs of paper every week.

We recycle approximately 20lb of aluminum cans and plastic bottles every week.

We recycle all scrap metal and other recyclable items and materials. (2 roll off trucks per month. Approx. 15 Tons)

We have replaced all paper products such as plates, utensils, napkins, cups, etc. with biodegradable products in all kitchen, and cafeteria across all our facilities.

We recycle the K-cups from the KEURIG coffee makers. Keurig takes apart the K-cups and uses the grounds for compost and the other components for energy. (approx. 1,000 K-Cups a month)

We encourage our employees to use Ceramic Coffee mugs and reusable water bottles to help conserve the environment.

In 2015 ARB is expected to establish and implement a comprehensive recycling program for ARB offices, yards, and project sites, community outreach recycling, donations of used items, and community clean-up days.
