Kinder Morgan Pipeline Replacement - Tuesday, December 3, 2013
Kinder Morgan Pipeline Relocation / Replacement
The ARB Lake Forest Pipeline Division is relocating and replacing a pipeline for Kinder Morgan in Ontario, California. This work is being done ahead of a future grade separation project. ARBís portion of this project is the installation of approximately 15,650 feet of new 16, 24, and 6-inch pipe. Two of the pipelines, the 6-inch and the 24-inch, will be relocated to the opposite side of the railroad tracks by performing two cased bores at each end of the project. These two pipelines will join the 16-inch pipeline already on the right side of the tracks. The three new pipelines will then be installed parallel with the tracks through approximately 3,500 feet of open trench and three horizontal directional drills, one for each pipeline. The 16-inch and 24-inch will be 1,500 feet in length and the 6-inch will be about 800 feet long. Dave Roberts is the project superintendent.
